Sabàtic Hotel
Sitges, 2022

The design of Hotel Sabàtic in Sitges, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, had a clear objective: to find the right balance between a relaxed, holiday aesthetic and an urban atmosphere, without leaning into the beach clichés. The project needed to connect with the residential context of this unique town while maintaining an open identity throughout the year.

The ground floor is conceived as an open, sophisticated space. The impressive double-height entrance marks the space with magnificence, while the natural stone reception desk and a satin-lacquered mural define the transition to the guest room floors. To add privacy and frame in the lounge area, custom-made bookshelves filter the view and create smooth transitions between areas. Tailored furniture—such as Perobell sofas and Arper’s Kata armchairs—paired with warm-toned Cumelles rugs, evoke a distinct European holiday mood. A central bar visually connects all spaces and opens onto the English courtyard, filled with lush vegetation, natural light, and a refreshing atmosphere.

The restaurant and outdoor terrace are visually integrated through the continuity of the natural stone flooring. To provide sun protection, metal pergolas with wooden slats add elegance and comfort. In the garden, stone benches and daybeds with upholstered cushions extend the interior atmosphere outside, creating cozy private corners to relax in. A micro cement bar serves as the social hub, where bartender, mixologist and DJ share the stage to create a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere.

The guestrooms feel fresh and functional. Sand-coloured walls and the use of natural, unfinished wood on floors and ceilings bring warmth, while smart, multifunctional furniture helps make the most of the space without disrupting the flow. Bathrooms are wrapped in porcelain that mimics bush-hammered stone, covering floors, walls, and sinks in a seamless texture, highlighted by wood frames and handcrafted paper details. Large graphic artworks reinforce the holiday essence, turning each room into a peaceful retreat. With this, Hotel Sabàtic attains a calm, bright and sophisticated atmosphere, perfectly suited to every season.
